Our story

Help should not have to wait for a breakdown.

Lifed began with a question asked inside a hospital, and became a place to book real wellbeing programs, run by real people, in real places.

A global platform to book curated wellbeing programs across wellness, functional movement and recovery. Residential stays and day sessions, hosted by vetted Healthmates. Non-clinical, and never a substitute for medical care.

Where it began

A hospital. A question that would not leave.

It started at JIPMER, the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry. Two people from different disciplines kept noticing the same thing. People arrived in a bad way, were put back together, and came back again.

Harinekshana K.H., a cardiac perfusionist, watched lives saved in an operating theatre, then watched the same people leave with nothing to help them live differently afterwards.

Sourav Raj K, a biostatistician and research methodologist, had the numbers on burnout and preventable illness. Every one of them described a system built to react to damage rather than reduce it.

"Why do we wait until people break before we try to help them?"

The PROBLEM

Help arrives late, and in pieces.

Most people do not arrive at wellbeing through curiosity. They arrive through exhaustion, usually later than they meant to, and almost everything built to help is designed to respond after the damage rather than before it.

Everything responds after the damage

Almost everything built to help is designed for after something breaks, rather than before it.

Help is scattered across screens

One practice on one app, another on a second, sleep on a third. Useful alone, none aware of the others.

The real thing is hard to book

Wellbeing practices are taught widely and well. A verified practitioner, on a date that works, at a price stated upfront, is the part that is missing.

What we built

What Lifed actually is.

Lifed is a place to find and book real programs, run by real people, in real places. Residential stays where everything is included, and day programs you attend near home. Wellness, functional movement and recovery. The website is the doorway. The program is the point.

The programs

Each one built with the person or place hosting it and reviewed before it goes live.

The Healthmates

The practitioners, centres, communities and organisers who host them, who are partners rather than listings.

LEWIS

An optional, non-clinical reflection that can suggest a program that fits, if you would like the help. You can book without ever opening it.

Participants in a Lifed session

Hosting on Lifed is by invitation. Every program is shaped with its Healthmate and reviewed with scientific support, so what you book is curated in full.

How curation works

What curated actually means.

Every program on Lifed starts as a conversation with the practitioner or place that will host it. Nothing is relisted from somewhere else, and nothing is uploaded without being read.

STEP 01

A conversation

It begins with the Healthmate, not an upload form.

STEP 02

Checked

Who they are, what they are qualified to do, and where the program runs.

STEP 03

Shaped together

Each day, group size, inclusions, price, and what happens if someone cancels.

STEP 04

Then it goes live

If it does not meet the standard, it does not appear.

From concept to credibility

What has happened so far.

Lifed started as a question about why wellbeing only arrives after something breaks. Here is what has been built since, and who has come along.

The first program ran

Our first Lifed Original program brought fifteen professionals together from across different fields. It was the first proof that people would take real time out and turn up in person.

LIFED milestone
The people behind it

Built by people who have seen both sides.

Three backgrounds, one belief: help should not have to wait for a breakdown.

Sourav Raj K

Sourav Raj K

FOUNDER & CEO

A biostatistician by training and a JIPMER alumnus, Sourav has spent his career making sense of data that actually matters to people's lives. At Lifed, he decides what gets built and why, always asking whether it will genuinely help someone live a little better.

Harinekshana K.H.

Harinekshana K.H.

FOUNDER & CHIEF PROGRAM OFFICER

A JIPMER alumna and trained cardiac perfusionist, Harinekshana brings the same care and precision to Lifed's programs that she once brought to looking after patients. She leads the co-creation, selection and curation of every program on Lifed, working closely with Healthmates to shape experiences that are genuinely worth attending.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Deepu builds and runs the platform, search, booking, payments, and the many small parts that have to work every time. He believes good technology should stay quietly in the background, so people can focus on the real experience waiting for them.

What we stand for

The rules we build to.

Six commitments that decide what appears on Lifed, and what does not.

Prevention over prescription

Lifed is built for the part of life before anything goes wrong. Programs are designed to support everyday wellbeing, not to respond after a problem. Lifed is non-clinical and never replaces care from a qualified professional.

Checked before it is offered

Nothing appears on Lifed without being read first. Every Healthmate is verified and every program is reviewed against the same standard before it goes live. When something does not meet it, it does not appear.

Local traditions, open to anyone

Many programs on Lifed come from traditions taught in India for generations. They are hosted by people trained in them, described in plain language rather than mystique, and open to anyone who wants to attend.

Practitioners are partners

Healthmates are partners, not vendors and not listings. They keep control of their craft, their name appears on the program they host, and the terms are stated upfront rather than discovered later.

Sustainability is not a footnote

Lifed holds a G14 sustainability rating of 85.90 out of 100.

One person, not four departments

Physical, emotional and mental wellbeing are not separate domains with separate apps. Programs on Lifed are built for a person and a week of their actual life.

Now go and look at the programs.

If you are looking for something to attend, start with what is live now. If you host wellbeing programs and want to be found, start there instead. Either way, the real thing happens away from this page.
